How to attain more power from 2.5 jeep?

i have a 97 jeep wrangler next to the 2.5 liter 4 banger. i have already shaved 150 thousanths stale the head to bump up the compressen and i was wondering if a header or any other addons would relief. its only get 31 10.50's but it lacks the power to run on the interstate effectivly even with 4.10 gears. appreciation

your 2.5 will turn high-ranking RPM's it is just the spirit of a 4cyl. you could go 4.56 gears and Mesa4x4 will tender you a great deal. however if it is horsepower you want i would dally arount till a 4.0 came up on e-bay from somone who is doing an engine swap to a V-8. They are a dime a dozen, and great engines. appointment me when you want to soup up the 4.0. 4.6 strokers are easy and pust 250 horseys.
