i would like to know what all will i necessitate and what all will i have to do contained by order for it to work right.
Lot of time and leniency. You'll need adapters, wiring, and computer system to run it adjectives, but you can do it. If it's a CA. car you'll have to enjoy all the emissions equip for '96.
Answers: You will need to buy an LT1 near a computer and harness together. I know you say Impala SS, however, some food for thought. Impala SS had the Iron-headed LT1 (265 HP), the Camaro/Trans Am & Corvette LT1s have 10-20HP+ or more than that and had aluminum heads. All are perfect LT1 engines, take your pick. My preference is the Aluminum head engines. If you have a stick shift your clutch/flywheel will not work anyway because of balancing and the 1 piece flipside main(88-95 350/92-97 LT1) has a slightly different flywheel/flexplate. You will have to bring back one balanced for the LT1, you can probably use a 6 speed LT1 flywheel to make it work. If its an auto, after the one that comes with the LT1 you buy will work, because the torque converters from TH350/TH400/TH700R4s all bolt up to the LT1 flexplate. The simply really time consuming part of this it to hook up the wiring. I suggest getting a swap diagram from somewhere, probably free past its sell-by date the net, or a LT1 forum ect. When you find one, most of the ppl that have done this until that time already have all the little things figure out for you. This will make your swap project easier for you. Wiring can be a pain. Good Luck!!

If you put a carburetor on the Impala engine, it will be much easier. How much stab depends on which engine is in the truck and which engine is in the Impala. If it's a V8 to a V8 conversion, it'll be impartially simple.I enjoy found a 1980 z28 camaro...
