I am looking a buying a 2002 wrx sti and was wondering if and owners can supply me a review of the car. This vehicle has 80,000 miles on it but is within excellent condition. Would it be wise for me to buy it it desires to last going on for 4 years I drive about 20,000 miles a year. Thank you for your answers.
Are you in the US? If so, in attendance is no such car.
There is a WRX, but not a WRX STI. (that be, IIRC, 04 and later)
I'd be pretty skeptical about a STI-swapped WRX. That's the simply way you'd enjoy such a thing surrounded by the US, BTW.
As for the regular WRX, it's a good, relatively reliable vehicle, but most of them have be driven hard, and closely of them have be owned by morons. You want maintenance documents, you want it inspected by a mechanic, and you want few if any mods, and any mods should be well done near quality parts.
Most modern automobiles are designed okay, so that, with proper preservation, they can last a fundamentally long time. The big problem with cars such as the STi is that the society who own them tend to drive them. Hard. Think about the STIs and Evos you see destitute. Usually the people at the rear the wheel are nouns the car as if they are surrounded by a time trial as opposed to commuting to work. If, however, the street trader has not abused the vehicle, and can provide proof that the vehicle be maintained, I would vote you should be OK.
For more detailed data as to the element of the car, check out long-term reviews by auto magazine such as Car and Driver, or Road and Track, both of which have online archives where on earth you can read their summaries of long-term ownership.
Answers: It the price is right, travel for it. Most Subarus go 200,000+ miles. There's a origin you don't see many of them used, the owners love them.
I dont know where on earth the first chick is getting her info but I have 3 friends that bought WRX's adjectives around 5 years ago and every single one of them has any traded it in or bought a different motor because they are so unreliable!! If you had some money to spend look into a Toyota Supra- they will smoothly make it to 300,000 miles and they are mode faster than an STI.
What be the purple supercar on top...
