I'm getting my license in a year, and i'm interested in a ford mustang, preferably a model from 2002-2004. Does anyone own one? what are the pros and cons of it for a alien driver, and living in an area near mountains and snow?
Stick with the gt model (the one that have a v8 engine) because the mustang gt's have excellent reliability. The combination of these two things cause the rear end of the coup¨¦ to fish tail very easy surrounded by snow and ice. I use to live in Chicago and I owned a 89gt mustang and a 96gt mustang here. What us mustang owners would do when it snowed was we would put a few 45lbs weights in the trunk or a few 50lbs sandbags or cement lots. This would take car of the fish tailing problem. I live surrounded by arizona now so we dont have much of a snow or rime problem here. Answers: A rear-wheel drive car is not a good belief for hilly and snowy conditions with a exotic driver. I drive a rear wheel drive motor that has less than partially the power and it is quite sensitive in the snow. Get a righteous front driver instead. mustangs are real fun, but(always a but). six cyl. cars use as much gas switch worse and are much slower. as a first car i would not suggest a mustang gt its very confident to loose control of it on wet/snowy roads. ive had 3 gts and 2 z28s over the years. my suggestion would be to but something small cheap and reliable for your first car, and salvage your money money for a real nice mustang once you get the unbroken driving thing down pat.Stick with the gt model (the one that have a v8 engine) because the mustang gt's have excellent reliability. Snow,hills no good if you hold never driven a rear wheel drive sports car before. who ever said you will flip is wrong and even with a v6 you will still own the same problem as with a v8 understeer and oversteer will be a problem the backside of the car will want to spin out and come out from under you and you will spin out at the tiniest.
