C7S is wayyy wrong on this issue. The FLUID may entail to be changed again, if it was ever changed to begin next to. I am a former owner of an 02 Elantra GLS and I can tell you that what you are describing is exactly what happened to my sports car before we got the tranny fluid changed at more or less 68K miles.
Having a used car means keeping up next to the maintenance pretty well. Call around and ask places approaching Midas and Meineke how much they charge for a transmission flush and fill. They also transform your transmission filter. Cost me around 40 bucks with a coupon.
My motor had 120,000 miles on it when we traded it in for an '07 Elantra, and the simply money we ever spent on it was for oil change, tires, and the tranny fluid change.

Answers: 1st, transmissions are not changed every 60,000 that has to be the dumbest comment ever almost. Transmissions are division of the power train warranty, companies wouldn't be having 100,000 mile and now lifetime warranty if they knew a part have to be replaced at $2500. Anyway, your transmission may be fine, when was the later time you had a transmission fluid flush? You should hold a fluid flush every 30,000 miles, also check to make sure you have adequate fluid. If those aren't the problem it still may be something that requires a tuneup rather then a nouns replacement. I advise you to take your motor to a mechanic to diagnose the problem and catch up on any maintenance that's be neglected.

As all cars get hold of older and get more mileage, they lose power. The elder it gets, the sooner it changes gears and the rougher it change gears. This is normal for a car near this much mileage. It has nothing to do near the alternator. The transmission needs to be changed.
