Checked the thinkness seems alright. any ideas why
Noise is not well brought-up. Everyone is talking about disc brakes, I regard as some PT Cruisers had drum brakes in the ahead of time years, if that is the case it's possible the inside layer is worn off the shoes and the metal shoe is grinding into the drum. Whatever brakes you have on the flipside of your car making noise, achieve it repaired, you have lost a good percentage of your braking cleverness.

On my PT (2001) the pad LOOKED fine just looking at them thru the wheels. When I pulled the wheel off, then I could see the pad were worn off at an angle and in fact metal-to-metal on one side...Didn't need rotors (I had them miked) and uncomplicated to change pads, if you enjoy a piston compressor. If not, you can get one at Harbor Freight pretty cheap that'll work okay...

Answers: if your flipside brakes are making a squeaking/grinding noise then you obligation to have some body pull the drum or you yourself verbs it off and clean out the brake dust next to brake parts cleaner. then go to your local parts store and find an anti sqeal spray(the type that you spray directly on the shoes and drums) and put that on. That should keep the noise down.

Chances are you need strange pads. Even if they look alright, brake jobs aren't expensive if you do them yourself, and they still won't put a hole contained by your wallet if you have a mechanic do them. I had a Saturn that be making horrible brake noise in the front. I took the wheel off and the pads looked fine, but I know something was up, so I put new pad on and it went away. Sometimes that's just how it go. Give it a try, it's a solution to a problem that even if it doesn't work, you won't feel like you lost money on it.Noise is not well brought-up.
