Toyota Rav4 4x4 - do you own one? How is your gas mileage?

Looking for people that have a Toyota Rav4 4x4 (2.0 liter engine). I'm planning on buying a Rav4 around mid February and I'm interested contained by knowing what your average city/highway mileage is.

I currently have a Toyota Carolla that gets 36 city and 45 highway. I'm expecting that the Rav4 will not be as fuel simplified as the estimated mileage is approximately 22 city and 27 highway. Knowing this, and doing a lot of city driving, I'm on the fence as to if I really want to gain one.

For those that OWN a Rav4, what have you found the mileage to be like? All answers are generosity, but I'm looking for Rav4 owner responses specifically. Thanks in advance for your input!

I own an '04 Rav 4 and I know I get 22mpg around town with partial freeway miles. I dont travel far or often but my Rav comes in handy for kids and luggage. I cant complain, it seems to be a good, reliable vehicle within the 4 years I've had it. All I've had to do for it be regular oil changes and lately a investigational battery, but its 4 yrs old!

Answers:    You can display what other owners are reporting for MPG here:

You can estimate what your actual MPG will be with your usual driving pattern, by comparing the % difference contained by MPG that you are getting in your current Corolla (be sure to use the same model year and engine/transmission figures), and later applying that same % difference in MPG to that of the Rav4 4WD. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/

You may do better by asking actual owners of the Rav4, rather than the chance assortment of people on Y!Answers, by going to some dedicated forums, such as:
