Weight dimensions is decided by bumper design and spring dimensions. IF you're speaking of a factory bumper. That should be in the owners guide as well as man stamped by the ball mounting location. If it's a frame mounted reciever it'slimited by the bubble mount or hitch-head and ball size.

Ford puts that information on a sticky label in the drivers door jamb. Once you hold the GCWR, you deduct the bulk of the truck, and you get the available shipment weight.
You can undamagingly haul/tow weight up to that amount beside the truck. Once you know that amount, you can either put in a trailer hitch that will support that rating, or more.
Last time I knew Ford rate the step bumpers(when installed) as class III to 5000 lb loads, with a 400 lb tongue substance.
