Answers: I own an 04 330 XI and love it. It's my third BMW, the first 2 were flipside wheel drive. It's not so much the X vs the quattro, it's BMW vs Audi. If you close to BMWs, the X allows you to own one and drive it confidently in a climate that have a lot of doomed to failure weather. The car handle incredibly well and the acceleration from 65 to 90 is incredible. I live contained by Boston and had no problem driving home contained by the snow this past Thursday when we have a foot of snow and I live on a hill and the street wasn't plowed when I get home. And we spent this past Thanksgiving within Baltimore - we did 85 down and back. A few weeks ago, I be driving a friend home in the rainfall and he commented on how well the sports car held the road on the wet pavement.
When I first get the car, I go to a street that went up a mound on a snowy day. I could see tire tracks of cars sliding as they go up the hill. I come to complete stop at the bottom of the hill, and took bad up street without a problem. Another afternoon when the pavement was dry, I needed to see how the car handle a curve that I travel everyday. I jumped on it around the curve and want so prompt that I got somewhat scared, but the vehicle held it's line and never slipped.
