$6000 for a used vehicle - What's should my hold back be on mileage? Replaced engines?

This is all hypothetical, as my dad won't get me a vehicle, but I'm just wondering...

If you were looking for a used saloon around $6000 or less, and you were solely looking at the stuff known to be reliable (Honda, Toyota, maybe Mazda, Nissan, etc) how lots thousands of miles could a car have on it and still interest you?

Sometimes I run on sites like AutoTrader and Cars.com just to pretend I'm shopping for a vehicle. Today I be looking at Preludes - seem like severely nice cars. Most of them had 100k miles or more than that. Would getting a Honda with 100k on it be a unpromising idea?

I found a few that had around 10k-30k on a spanking new replacement engine. I'm not too knowledgeable about cars - Would a saloon with a new engine near 10k miles on it be almost the same as if the car's total miles were 10k on the stock engine?

Can they still roll vertebrae the miles...

Answers:    I chew over you're doing the right thing by shopping around (even hypothetically) to comparison shop and see what's out there.

It's a erudition process that takes a lot of research and even some relieve from experienced people (don't rule out your dad or a car experienced friend or neighbor).

I hold had good and impossible experiences with rebuilt or replaced engines surrounded by vehicles. It depends on who did the work and if they did it right. Find out as much as you can Before buying a car in relation to it's history.

Don't be swayed by the looks or the seller's hype.

I study up on a vehicle for many months sometimes before pulling the trigger and buying one.

Good Luck.

I entail a vehicle?
