I am putting an 04 plate Astra L 2litre Tdi in the auction tomorrow, it was an ex police vehicle so has a few scratches and results where their stikers were.
It is tax and MOT'd until April and had 97k on the clock. The car go great but I am getting a company car.
The aution has asked what reserve I would approaching to put on it but I am clueless when it comes to cars, any ideas? TRY PARKERS PRICE GUIDE FOR A PRICE BUT I WOULD SAY ITS GOT TO BE WORTH 3500
Depends how much you hope to get for it. Think about how long you've have it, what you paid for it, look at something like Autocar and see what similar are selling for.
The one point I would advise is don't put too high a reserve on it if you want it to deal in. I deal a bit in antiques and recurrently put things in auction. It's pretty disappointing when you're hoping to get rid of something and it doesn't put up for sale because it doesn't meet it's reserve - and you still have to foot the auction fees!
Really you've just got to establish what is the lowest price that you'd be willing to accept for the vehicle and make that your reserve. Hope you get a suitable price for it!
Ask the auction to reserve it at the CAP book value (trade car price book).
See if you can find one similar and what they are asking for it or on ebay how much it sold for.

Answers: Ask yourself what the minimum you would take for the sports car is and that should be your reserve. That will insure that you get at least the minimum you expect for it earlier selling it.
