I'm 22 years old and a first time car buyer... I'm also self-employed. I applied for a loan and received a blank check bundle in the mail... I go to the dealership (I already found the car I wanted) and faxed them the information that the package requested, signed the check, give it to the dealer, and left near the car without any problems. A few days latter, the company calls me and tells me they cannot honor the check because of the reality they need 2 years' tax returns from me because I'm self-employed. They did not request tariff returns from me in the package or I would own waited to purchase the car, because I do not enjoy a return for 2005. I make $2,800 a month NOW, but I did not last year. I made $17,313 final year and was a W-2 employee the year previously. Must my income tax return for 2007 show $2,800 a month for all of 2007 to know how to get this loan taken care of? I'm afraid if I show them a return for $17k, they will not fund the loan. What should I do?
First you need to contact the bank and ask them. they are the simply ones that can answer this question. Then call the dealership and recount them you are working on handling the situation and ask if they have a bank that would proposition financing on the car for you.

Answers: Which company call you about not accepting the check? If it was the dealership, later if you had a check made in full, within should be no reason for them to need W-2's. However if the lender is calling, after you will either have to provide the information, or return the vehicle. You might enjoy received a 'Pre-Qualified' check, which always has stipulations. I hope this help.
