When you were 16-17, and got your license, did you enjoy to work and pay for your first car, or did your parents only give one to you? Now, my family is hugely well off, but I am going to own to work my *** off to pay for a vehicle. My dad has told me he wont pay for a single cent. I enjoy to pay for gas, insurance, everything. On top of that, he says I requirement a 4.0 GPA (At the least), and to keep doing Football, Tennis, Basketball, and Weight Training in proclaim to even get the rights to drive. Now, im frustrated at how un-helpful he is, but thats life. Now, im wondering how various of you guys had to work or just get a car. Im quite a bit green since all my immediate friends are guarenteed a nontoxic car of their choice under 20k. as long as they hold a 3.0+. I dont want to sound like a brat, but im sure overprotective of their luck there!
I have to foot it to your parents. He is making a man out of you. good for him. I know how you feel, but it's for your betterment. It's a disgrace to me to see how much parents provide to their kids, and their grandchildren. It will make a better person out of you. And I'm sure that's what you want too, right? Don't be domineering, just do your part and you will be a better human being for it. I'm a lot older than you are. My 1st. coup¨¦ was a car I bought (paid for myself deliver newspapers) for $75. It was a 1940 Ford 2dr. sedan. NOTHING was given to me. I other had to work (and pay rent to my Ma). But I really am appreciative today. I was taught to reward my Grandfather back 25 cents that I borrowed. Sounds silly today, doesn't it? I really like immature people. I hope you heard me and not take home fun of my situation. It's your choice!!
I bought my first motor on my own. I worked over 2 summers to save up the money. My first car be a 66 mustang coupe.

Answers: Really, if you're doing it all by yourself, he should own no jurisdiction over weather you drive or not. No matter how you do in arts school. Unfortunately, they're probably overly controlling parents, and there will be no arguing about it because they're too bullheaded to see it any other means of access.
I feel for you. I'm not from a well-off family, and my Dad still get me a $280 rusted out Toyota Tercel. Of course I had to pay for everything else, but I have the car. I was 14. (I'm an auto enthusiast, be super motivated to get my license, had licence by 14yrs and 9mo.) Within a year it had a body job, unknown paint, tires, exhaust, and eventually I had to rebuild it.
Sounds approaching you got stuck with some over-bearing parents. Punch your friends within the face if they ever rub it into you. They'll never know what it's like evidently.
Good luck friend.

No one ever gave me anything. I bought my first bicycle next to money I earned delivering report papers on foot. My first car be a 50 Chevy I paid $75 for after I was out of lofty school and in the Marines. I made my kids compensate for theirs or, in the case of my daughter, comfort me get it in running command. My grandson now has the '65 Mustang which belonged to his father. The lone reason he got it be because he helped me restore it. I never worked on it unless he was near and helping. I feel he really appreciates it a lot more than kids who only have them given to them.I have to foot it to your parents. He is making a man out of you. good for him.
