I recently posted my car for public sale at carsdirect.com and I got this email response from an agent in Europe aphorism that he has a buyer who's son is in Canada and lately graduated from college. The buyer apparently wants to buy this for his son as a present.
I am in recent times a little apprehensive about this because contained by my mind why would somebody from Europe find to buy a car from California to be delivered to Canada. Does this nouns legitimate? If not, any advice on how I can check the legitimacy of the buyer?
To me it's logical that if the close user of the car is in Canada after the car should be bought in Canada too so you can hide away on shipment costs, etc. I understand if it's a small item you're buying but if it's a car, later that's another story.
Any experience in posting with carsdirect.com that you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Answers: Eric,
be seeing similar questions pop up on Yahoo here. Over seas buyers of a mind to pay full price (and higher) and all shipping costs, and hold transacted $$$ through yahoo, or some agent.
consensus is that it is a scam. Until you enjoy the buyers $$$ in your account verified by YOUR dune, the car and title should NOT leave your possession.
