Answers: I would imagine most cars approaching that are ridden hard and put away raining. LOTS of mileage and little maintenance.
You usually return with these 'sleds' for a cheap price for a good idea. If it's going to be a school saloon that's mostly driven around town, AND you're a good mechanic, run for it.

All I can speak about you is I bought a 94 Chevy police car next to an Lt-1 engine. I had it for just about 4 years. I had to put a spanking new front end below it and new brakes. Mechanically to be precise all I did. It be a great car, no problems, sold because of divorce.
