I have freshly bought a "56" plate car from a franchised peddler for lb11,000. Yesterday the log book arrived from the DVLA saying "congratulations, you are presently the registered owner, instead of Hertz UK"
Nobody told me this was an ex rental motor before I bought it, and I specifically asked the broker before purchasing if it have been used as a minicab or private hire, and he told me no.
The car have given me no problems and seems fine, but when I come to trade it, surely a large chunk of its plus would have be lost due to it being an ex rental.
Does anyone conjecture I have a casing to try and get a discount or some compensation, as I believe that I have be miss sold the car. I hold only done 300miles surrounded by it.
Thanks, Paul
get the lads contained by and pop down to this franchise and remind him that ten lads in a transit van can do like mad of damage by the time plod draw from there, be suprised when you put your foot away with your money hindmost and a free magic tree and taxdisc holder
parley to the dealer
check the blue book price for the motor
the dealer will possibly swap it for another sports car in stock
remeber the salesperson has done nil wrong it was up to you to ask if it have been a rental sports car
rental cars in the UK are typically worth 25% smaller number than a similar private car
Answers: I don't think you will loose much on re-sale. Thats old-school thought and doesn't relate to modern cars.
At smallest with Hertz you can be sure it get regular servicing.
Mileage, service history and general condition are what counts really.
If you want to appendage back a vehicle that has proved to enjoy no problems that is obviously up to you.
The first point of call will be the provider manager, that'll supply you a clue if they are reasonable or not.
If the motor is materially what you were told later its unlikley trading standards would want to get involved. They are more interested contained by trends of many reports a bit than individual cases. And of course the log book would hold been available up to that time the sale if it really be that important to you, that will plausible be thier defence.
You Vs the word of a saloon saleman - you might win, but it might give you more grief than you want. What happen if they give you a few hundred quid and the sports car DOES go wrong, who will you turn to afterwards because they will not want to help.
u been mugged
turn talk to trading standards they are ther best society to deal next to it
That is a tricky one. I am not sure. The fact is that they should hold told you. It would be something to talk to them give or take a few, maybe have a word to the better business bureau. But, you know a company here where I live did impossible to tell apart thing to my mother contained by law. The saloon was issue after issue. She talk to them and said she was out of luck.
She have no proof that the salesperson did not tell her almost the car mortal from a rental company before. It sucks. She have paid more surrounded by repairs than in payments.
Good luck man, sorry to hear roughly speaking this.
On a good transcribe. Hertz does take excellent nurture of their rental cars. But, you know rentals are cars that are beaten by the drivers. Maybe you will grasp lucky though.
