I am looking to buy a car, but don't know much about them. I saw this one used, presently the owner says the car have a 130k miles on the clock but it has a new 700r4 trans. What does this tight? How does this affect the engine? How long can the car last?
need to know is that get chore that the car runs great no problems. and all is working. no interrupt on car in or outside
Doesn't really affect the motor but it woul dmake me wonder how it was driven to enjoy the tranny replaced with that little miles on it.
It has 130,000 miles on the engine and have a rebuilt not new 700R4 nouns.
How long will it last will depend on how well it be driven and maintained.
GM's 700r4 transmission is not particular for outstanding reliability, and it's not unusual to see them rebuilt or replaced in cars next to fairly low mileage.
Other than that, since you didn't say the generate or year of the car you're looking at, it's kind of rock-hard to give you an estimate of fair significance or reliability.
I dunno... It would probably help If I knew which coup¨¦ you were planning to purchase. The Best advice i could supply you would be to look online and find a forum with people on it that currently own the coup¨¦ you are planning to purchase and see if the Tranny replacement is a common problem. You could also go to edmunds.com and check out the consumer reviews. I once bought a brand investigational ford explorer and the tranny went at 36,307 miles so the fact that the tranny be replaced may not indicate how the car was treated it could be a manufacturer defect. 130,000 isnt a short period of time so It could be that 130k is only the service life of the tranny.
Answers: 1st of adjectives the car is a good choice model prudent, the 350 motor is a great choice, get a compression check done you want it to be about150 to 160 psi this can be done at any shop .The trans bothers me its on its 2nd trans all equipped that trans is good for about 80,000.miles that model trans is nice because its a 4sd auto but near life expectancy sucks make sure you bring back a warranty on the trans,he says its new, consequently enjoy
