Answers: its not always that glib.. for it to be used on the road, it have to meet US Standards, and if it does not, it cannot lawfully be imported here. For a while near was a gray open market for European cars that did not meet sanctuary standards (smaller bumpers, lights, etc), which allowed importers to buy luxury cars at a fraction of the cost of cars meeting US Safety standards, but the affairs of state eventually closed that loophole.
