Advantage: save on gas, eco-friendly, giant re-sale value
Disadvantage: price is higher than non-hybrids
Model I would reccomend: Toyota prius because it is rate high on consumer reports and gets 46 miles per gallon.
ummm deffinately considering at lowest possible 8 oil sites have be shut down and petrolium on the market(stock market) are going up over $100 a barrel. so far the markets prediction is that within the spring gas will go up to 3.40 a gal, so save yourself profusely of money cuz its going to keep going up. we are tapping out the resource, and its only going to keep going up and up and up.
you'll save more money within the long run b/c of gas prices

Disadvantage: Look at the replacement cost for a battery for those cars, I hear it is outrageous. Batteries wear down over time.

They're environmentally friendly and they have devout gas millage, but they still haven't been perfected. My friend have one and it seems to have closely of problems. All the money he's saved with gas, he's used only just for maintenance. but if you're ok with that i'd patently recommend one.

the situation with hybrids is this. If you do a lot of posterior and forth city driving, they have a great advantage surrounded by gas mileage, but if you do mostly highway driving the advantage is greatly shrunk compared to a good fuel reduction compact like a civic for example.

the reason for this is that during lower speeds ( up to 35 -40 mph) the electric motor is running, but at complex highway speeds the gas motor is working and since it is not a normal gas motor it strains more and actually tend to get less gas mileage than a virtuous 4 cyl car

Also note that a hybrid verse its gas counterpart costs on average of $5000.00 to $6000.00 more. Which means you would have to own the vehicle for just about 7 - 8 years even with todays gas prices to make up the initial cost difference.

however if you own the hybrid that long near is also a major expense after 4 - 5 years with the electric mobile in the car, which costs an average of $2500.00 to $3000.00 to replace.

it is an enviromently friendly sports car with emmissions, but the battery disposal is if truth be told very unenviromentaly friendly!

if this is your first car, more than predictable you probably would only keep it for 3 - 4 years which contained by that case hyprids do have a well brought-up resale depending on which brand

look at your driving situation and I hope you use the information I gave as a guide line from at hand

good luck! Hope I helped
