Answers: I highly recommend the Toyota Yaris. You can take one for between 12-14K depending on options etc. It's sporty, great on gas and have a great re-sale value. Some of them come near ABS and side airbags which makes them highly safe and your insurance will be a bit cheaper. Stay away from the Chevy's, Ford's, Chrysler's,Kia's and Hyundai's. I've see too many society trade these things in at a core loss after a few years because they just didn't carry out.

Civic or Scion. I like Civic design better but their ability has be going south over the last few years, and honda customer service SUCKS. Scions are still made within Japan.
