My wife is buying a car for her 16 year old brother.
I've advise other brands, but they are stuck on a Focus coupe. Please don't tell me to get another vehicle, it's not mine, I don't care.
MSRP is $14,300, Invoice is $13,486. Ford offers a $1500 rebate.
What is the best price that I should be negotiate to?
I understand that the 'invoice' price does not include dealer incentives and kickback, so should I expect lower than that price? Thanks for your help!
Depended truly on the options and trim bag you're getting. But I don't see why you couldn't get them down to about 12,000 next to an extended warranty. Remember this model year came to their dealership last year and they're on the hook.
I don't approaching Hondas at all...But, the fit is a really neato car beside some cool features. Did you know the gas tank is under the drivers form to maximize interior room? And I saw a Sport Compact Car where the Spoon Fit Destroyed a full on 350Z on lap times alone..
American cars simply seem so cheap on the interior to me, I have other driven VW's and BMW's. I am to say the least for a time bit ANTI american car.

And he thinks a Focus doesn't look geeky?
offer 12k---and dont dance higher than the invoice...keep negotiate untill you get it cheap...shop around at all the ford dealerships.sorry your brother inlaw is gonna hold a ford..ouch!
Answers: No do not expect lower than invoice. If it go's well later you can get invoice - the rebate. That would put you around $12k. Be smart and shop the local dealers! Work them and you will come out on top.

So just about $12,000.
Even if they can't say they can't sell it to you for that price, threaten to totter. There is a Ford dealer that will sell it to you for that price, in a minute.
Also, don't buy the rustproofing or the extended warranty when you buy the car.
You have 30 days to wish if you want to buy the extended warranty and the rustproofing can be done better, for cheaper, at an aftermarket place like Ziebart.
