I have a 2002 model and own for two years. It takes me up and down from Manchester to Birmingham everyday. It glides along the motorway and is great contained by the city too. They're packed next to features, they are the safest car surrounded by your list and will also be the best effectiveness - Along with the C5.
Mine have been completely reliable, no fault at all. I would also look at the C5, which I did, but go for the Laguna because it felt more expensive. The C5 get more kit than the Laguna, and is smaller amount expensive. Don't buy one without service history - to check muse over work has be done.
The Volvo would be my third choice. It's an individual choice and feels really solid, they're freshly rather dull.
Passat comes subsequent. Very expensive compared to the Citroen and Renault. Plus, being german, they're deeply dull inside, however they should prove reliable.
The Skoda is a budget version of the Passat - Horrible.
My Laguna have never let me down, and everyone who get in comments on it's orderly features and smooth ride. It's a great car.
