Renault Megane and Laguna. Some opinion please.?

Can some people who drive these cars tell me in the order of their reliability. I have heard a great deal about these models being outstandingly unreliable specially the ones that are 4 to 5 years old.

Answers: If you buy , buy a diesel. I have a 2000 laguna estate . Its done 287000km & drives close to a dream. Never let me down. (touch wood).Regular servicing, especially on fuel & oil filter should mean trouble free motoring.I also have the scenic Meganic . Its a petrol . Leaks grease & more expensive to run but again never let me down

Renault Megane? I did not like the odour so I would not buy again. But some empire like it very much. You might want to read more consumer's reviews. Here is the correlation:

Seems resembling the luck of the draw. Some are very good, some are constantly troublesome, at hand doesn't seem to be any consistency. Electrics are the usual problem, and older Meganes have a terrible habit of breaking front springs, so much so that it's virtually impossible to find Megane coil springs surrounded by scrapyards now.
