Answers:    If the small size isn't a problem, it's a virtuous vehicle. It's cool looking, has a futuristic dashboard, and is a huge vehicle for the IN CROWD of greenies.

However, unless you getting it because it's the worlds Best Green Car, you will be paying a lot up front.

Also, adjectives 2008 Vehicles have a drop in fuel discount because the goverment has changed the testing criterior. Now they are tested surrounded by more of a Real World senario. A/C on, harder accleration, suddon stops, red lights, ect. So even the exact same vehicle will now have a worse MPG Estimate which is much closer to what you will certainly receive on the road.

The cost of the Prius is quite lofty, over $21,000.00. And don't be looking for any kind of dealer incentives. Because of the huge "Green Crowd" The cars are within very high emergency. Now a similary sized Toyota Yaris ***If you want to stick with Toyota, the Honda Fit is a better vehicle then the Yaris both size wize and fun knowledgeable.*** Starts a bit above $11,000.00. Say you get a Fully decked out Yaris, all the bells and whistle. You have a really niceley equiped car, and will still undercut the price of a basice Prius' buy a few thousand.

Say you drive 15,000 miles a year. The yaris get's 29/35 MPG compared to the Prius's 48/45MPG. Let's say-so Local driving at 29MPG and 48MPG at $3.20 a gallon. The Yaris will burn 517 Gallons give or take which comes to $1654 a year roughley. The Prius will burn 312.5 gallons which comes to $1000. a year. That make a profit of $654 a year in fuel savings. So if you save $2500.00 on a fully equpied Yaris, it would take you nearley 4 years to see any savings contained by fuel consumption.

If you went for a base model yaris, it would probably clutch you the better part of 9 years to recover your initian investment. Not to mention the extra cost of financing the vehicle.

Just though I would crunch some numbers for ya. I don't particularley close to Hybrids because their cost is more over the short term, and their skinny wheels don't hold the best traction in the rain/snow.

HElP.......?

In my opinion the Prius is the best sports car on the road right now. It's also the greenest on the planet:

So if you vigilance about the environment, the Prius is a good choice. It's also outstandingly roomy, comfortable, reliable, has cool features (i.e. dashboard computer), very large resale value, etc. etc.

The only con is that the initial cost is pretty illustrious - around $21,000 for the base model. You make closely of this up in gas and maintenance reserves, and recoup the initial cost as compared to a similar car (and a tiny Yaris is not comparable to a mid-sized Prius) surrounded by about 5 years. If you continue driving it after 5 years, you're positive money.

Plus within the next year or so, Toyota will be releasing the subsequent generation Prius which is expected to get 80 mpg surrounded by the city.

Bought a unmarked vehicle and I enjoy...

a verryyy good car. You own more than 60 miles per gallon on city and 50 on highway which is the best millage for any hybrid car you can buy right now. The cost is between 20,000-30,000 dollars, but you could still negotiate. Try to buy a 2007 model because it have better gas mileage than the 08 model for some reason. I own this car and loves it!! i can't find any cons nearly this car because you have the hybrid mobile coverage and replacement for life changes mobile every 5 years which is also covered in fees
