Answers: I work contained by the gasoline business and I have a grill: What kind of pumps do you hold that can't control the amount of product dispensed? If someone walks surrounded by and asks for $4, you set the limit at $4 and when it's reach, the pump turns off. If you're not requiring prepayment, you're crazy.
If someone fail to pay for the gasoline you've pumped, telephone the police. Don't pump it out, you're opening yourself to liability on 2 fronts. If something should take place to the customer's car, you could be sued. If you give somebody a lift the gasoline out successfully, what do you do with it? If it's branded product, you can't drop it rear in your tank, since you've compromised the integrity of the branded product.
The customer is responsible for paying what they pump. Put a sign up to that effect at each pump and the register. Indicate that bomb to pay is an automatic police spot and all license plates are record. Switch to pre-pay.
I believe it is legal. Your gas is considered inventory for your father. If someone take that without paying, they are liable for it. Make them reimburse first. If its customer service you are worried about, you can still be nice in need seeming like you don't trust anyone. and trust me, if it be anybody else, they would do it too.
thanks
