I live in San Diego and travel to Mexico rather often. I other see SENTRI lanes and hear population talk roughly speaking SENRI passes, but do not know how get hold of one. Can someone let me know where on earth to look and how long the process of getting one takes?

To grasp one. Go to the immigration office and ask how to grasp one. The office is where on earth people enter by walking.
Just ask around, homeland warranty are very illegal about things, so they will distribute you the round around for a while.
You will have to enjoy a good justification for getting SENTRI. You will need to show the origin for wanting it, not just to rescue 2 hours in the smudge.
They will do a background check on you, so it take a couple of months.
They also charge you but I don't know how much.

Getting a SENTRI ratify is a lengthy process, but it is resourcefully worth saving your travel time, if you travel across the boarder habitually. Obtaining a SENTRI pass is not difficult, but it does pinch some time....mostly filling out paperwork and waiting for approval. I get mine back relatively rapidly, but I did need a backing of an attorney in getting some prior convictions expunged, back I applied. I found an article that proved to be incredibly helpful surrounded by guiding me through the application process:
