im moving to new york after high conservatory and i was wondering how far i can live outside of New York, NY while still being competent to commute early enough for work and university.
I commute 600 miles to work every 2 weeks. I work on offshore oil rigs.
How far out of the city you can live and commute is up to you. I live within North Jersey and commute to NYC (upper east side) for work everyday. I take the train, bus and subway everyday and between all the transfers, traffic and getting through the crowds it's nearly two hours each way more or smaller quantity.
I walk to work.3 blocks.
It take me an hour to get to my school.
I go 15 miles respectively way every day...it's not that discouraging...but think about taking the train it's easier
You dont want to hold to take more than 2 trains and a bus to work, especially at rush hour, you'll never arrive to work... Takes 2 hours for me to get to the Bronx from Brooklyn, and thats 1 train and a bus...
