I've read conflicting info on this, some seem to indicate you pay a $1 admin tax per month, others don't say this.
I even thought I once read that if you don't use your pass for a set amount of time, you will start incurring a $1/month payment.
Just curious, it would be convenient to have one for the occasional trip on the east coast, but I wouldn't bother with it if I have to pay $1/month just to hold it.
Also...I'm not talking about the allowance associated with requesting monthly statements, I'm aware you can get those online quarterly for free.

Answers: The E-ZPass Inter Agency Group is made up of a little different toll agencies spread across 12 states. You can open an account near any agency, it doesn’t matter where you live. You are not required to profess your E-ZPass account with an agency within your home state. There are some agencies who will charge you a monthly account fee (usually more or less $1) while there are others who make you pay cheque up-front for each new transponder (between $25 and $30). However, here are a few agencies who will give a free transponder without charging you a monthly tax. You can get a free E-ZPass transponder with no monthly payment from the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, the Maryland Transportation Authority, the Peace Bridge Authority and the Illinois Tollway Authority. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission does charge an annual service fee of $3 however, their transponders are free and they charge no other fees.

Depends what state you went through to bring back it. If you got it in New Jersey you payment $1.00 a month. In the past if you had gotten through New York, within was no fee. I don't know if it have changed for New York since.Where do women swot up their driving...
