why when driving on the motorway do the trail of slow moving lorries all decide to block the focus lane by doing pointless overtaking manouvers. inevitably the one thaty gets overtaken will then procede to overtake the one contained by front!
Begs the question, why do car drivers sit contained by the middle lane, when theres nowt in the inside lane?
Guess those that cannot give a sensible answer to the sound out, which has already been done, and muse its funny to slow down and then speed up in front of a HGV have:
1), Never had the coincidence to be a passenger or even drive a wagon
2) Never brought anything delivered by a lorry!
Because they can't keep to the same speed adjectives the time, like you can in your motor. They slow down on hills, and speed up again afterwards. If they didn't overtake, and all go at the speed of the slowest truck, you'd soon moan about that.
They are saving each other fuel by riding surrounded by the slipstream and taking it in turns
HGV drivers are outstandingly skilled drivers and know the motorways like the backs of nearby hands.
They also go into the second lane as they know a slip road is approaching, to allow other drivers to access the motorway at speed which is how it should be done. Car drivers come down slip roads doing 40mph. This is extremely insecure.
I can see some people who have answered this interview simply have not got a clue roughly motorway driving.
Put it this way. how many cars do you see on the complex shoulder half crushed and how many HGV `s do you see smashed.
I rest my covering.
Because they are bigger than us and are a*seholes.
To return with your own back, get surrounded by front of one and very gradually slow down to roughly 40, then accelerate away. Takes them ages to bring back back up to speed.
Hardly a pointless manoeuvre.
If waggons couldn`t overtake then you would have almost at least 10 miles of them travelling in the inside lane. Try to grasp off the motorway and onto the slip lane with this scenario.
Waggon drivers are a tremendously professional group of people and technically, due to speed limiters, the only place they can overtake is up-hill due to any a power or lighter load advantage.
They are no different to sports car drivers who see the need to overtake, it is just that the sheer weightiness of the waggon makes the speed difference a lot slower.
I am a coup¨¦ driver speaking up for the lorry driver.
How rare is that?
H.G.V.'s in Britain and Europe are electronically set by law to 56.4mph (90km/h), for your safety.
There are, however, small variables allowed. This system that some vehicles may have the limiter set at 55mph, some at 54.7mph and others at 56.2 mph, etc. This is because it is impossible to set adjectives the speed limiters (which are there for your safety) to exactly 56.4mph.
You should be happy that this is done for your safekeeping and that the Government is considering fitting the same type of speed limiters to all cars - for your safekeeping...

They are simply overtaking. Their limiters restrict them to slightly less than sixty mph.
A fully weighed down lorry going up a hill is going to slow down, why shouldn't a lighter load overtake?
If everyone be to obey the speed limit of 70 mph, the lorries could be confidently overtaken in the third lane. Its the speed freaks in cars that incentive the problem, not the lorries.
Hardly a pointless manoeuvre.

One of course could turn this one around and enjoy a go at the selfish saloon drivers that undertake, middle lane hog, nip into the 'space' in front of an artic travelling at 60MPH that weigh 40T and expect the artic to brake in time etc. But I would never be so churlish. They are simply overtaking.
