If 2 people are sharing one Metrocard at the same time on a bus but afterwards need to transfer to the subway, do you swipe once and afterwards BOTH squeeze through the turnstiles at the same time or does it work by swiping once which will allow for 2 separate free transfers?
what city please?
metrocards are issued in many cities
New York have one and I think Boston does too as does
DC and even Los Angeles!
Just to name a few
enjoy you tried one of going though the turnstyle then pass the card vertebrae to your other passenger?
or check with the station agent
since you dont say waht city you are
(LA have a metrocard but its not vaild for the subway)

Answers: In NYC - you dip twice on the bus and then swipe solely ONCE in the subway turnstile.
The screen on the turnstile will show how plentiful transfers are allowed. You can then go through one at a time.
[Never progress though a turnstile with 2 people at alike time. Even if the Metrocard has the two transfers on it, if there is a policeofficer (in uniform or plain clothes) watching you'll both take in trouble for fare evasion.]
On the return trip you would swipe twice on the subway but dip ONCE on the bus. The fare box on the bus will beep twice when you dip your card.
