I would like to travel from Ottawa Canada to Chicago Illinois by railing. I checked some trains and they want to take me around the great lake instead of through the Ontario/Michigan border, I would not like to turn around the lakes seeing how much extra time it take. Is there a train that will step through the Ontario Michigan border??
Answers: Sorry, but there isn't. As far as I know, in attendance is train service into Windsor, Ontario. But from there, you'd hold to cross the border into Detroit and catch the Amtrak train to Chicago. That would probably be even more time consuming.
I'd stick next to the original route around the lake.
