I'm driving to San Francisco from San Diego (La Jolla to be more exact) Sunday morning. My plan is to leave somewhere between 5 and 6 am. Anyone know how desperate traffic will be?
Answers: Should be a cakewalk. You'll be through L.A. before they adjectives get out of church :) Bay Area 580 isn't that unpromising on a Sunday, I wouldn't expect you to see any real traffic until you hit the Macarthur web and try to get on the Bay Bridge.
Bring FasTrak. The toll lane are set up assuming weekday commutes, when most people enjoy FasTrak. On Sundays most people don't enjoy it, so you can queue up an hour just to money your toll :( Yes, it's the same FasTrak as down nearby.
A way around that is to say to come over 156 through Gilroy and up 101 or 280... but I can't vouch for traffic on those roads.
