In some cities in Canada (including the city where on earth I live) they use them to nab drivers who run red lights, which is great, until your friend runs a red light in *your* vehicle. Luckily when they send you the ticket in the e-mail they include a few pictures: one of most of the car, then a zoomed-in one of the license plate (which is how they bring your address to send you the ticket).
