The 405 is worse. It once took me 6 hours to drive to Santa Monica from Long Beach.

Answers: It is the second worse commute next to the 101-405 exchange. The 5 south is awful, it will crawl until about 730pm
You can throb it in the morning by leaving at 530am, but within is no way to beat it at hours of darkness.
