Answers:    White or yellow Clean Air Stickers are issued according to the following criteria:

White:

A vehicle that meet California's super ultra-low emission vehicle (SULEV) standard for exhaust emission and the federal inherently low-emission vehicle (ILEV) evaporative emission standard.

A 2004 model-year or elder vehicle that meets the California ultra-low energy vehicle (ULEV) standard for exhaust emissions and the federal ILEV standard.

Yellow:

A hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle that meet California's advanced technology partial zero-emission vehicle (AT PZEV) standard for criteria pollutant emissions and have a 45 miles per gallon or greater fuel economy highway rating.

A 2004 model-year or elder hybrid vehicle that has a 45 mile per gallon or greater fuel discount highway rating and meets California's ultra-low secretion vehicle (ULEV), super ultra-low emission vehicle (SULEV), or partial zero-emission vehicle (PZEV) standards.
