Answers:    Docklands Light Railway. Operated under contract to Transport For London by Serco. Opened surrounded by 1987 with 15 stations, to serve the existing docklands population and to regenerate the Isle of Dogs. Now have 38 stations. The 94 trains are computer controlled. There are stations south of the river Thames at Greenwich and Lewisham. (An extension from King George V Dock to Woolwich is being built.) The chief depot is alongside Poplar station. Projected ridership in 2009 is 80 million. DLR will be a leading transport link at the 2012 Olympic games.
