There's profoundly of crooked stuff out there.
e.g. The California Energy Crisis a few years ago be artificially caused by ENRON to increase their profits.

But when it comes to gas prices, the "crooked stuff" is nought that the US government can do anything something like because it is going on in other nation, and there's no international laws dictum they can't do the "crooked stuff."

Basically There are nations of the world that return with their income from selling oil to the rest of the world. They own joined together surrounded by an organization call OPEC in which they come to an agreement what they adjectives will charge ... it is an international Oligopoly. They get away near charging more, then more, afterwards more, so that will continue indefinitely.

Oil is a non-renewable resource, which process the world supply will not last forever. Some places are runnng out, resembling the North Sea off Scotland. In time, other places will run out. As here is less and smaller quantity under ground, it become more and more expensive to get out of the ground that which is disappeared.

It is really essential that the voters support efforts by the affairs of state to encourage alternate sources of fuel, so that when the world does run out of grease, we will be ready.

There are any number of problems next to our dependence on Middle Eastern Oil imports, so within is an effort to convert to Biofuels ... i.e. gasoline made from corn and other crops. This will mean US nouns from Middle Eastern Oil, and other OPEC sources, but it will take a while to carry it perfected. Meanwhile, Brazil is several decades ahead of the US contained by researching this, so in the short occupancy, to avoid our dependence on Middle Eastern Oil, we are moving to a dependnce on Brazilian biofuel, which is more expensive.

This is controversial ... more agriculture for biofuel means smaller amount for food for people and for fruit farm animals, so there's a trade off in that.

Terrorists like to attack grease that comes from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, etc. Every time they do one of these attacks, it makes the stock bazaar nervous, which drives up the prices of futures marketplace.

Basically, there is not adequate oil on the world marketplace to go around to adjectives the nations that want it, extremely India and China, so supply and demand drives up the price, which OPEC newly loves ... they can control the supply.

USA is competing with India & China & other nation for this low supply. Do you remember your history where below President Jimmy Carter there be not enough gas for everyone, so race had to compress up on a rationed proof, and wait contained by line for hours at the gas pumps. Pres Carter made the situation not so impossible by lowering the speedlimits nationwide to 55 mph ... the faster we drive, the smaller amount gas mileage we get ... after that elected leaders decided to silver the speed limits fund, so we are no longer getting the savings that Jimmy Carter give us. This is an issue for elections ... Do you favor going as fast as you approaching on the highways, or do you favor cheaper gas ... within past elections, the relations who want to go efficient have have more votes than the people who want cheaper gas.

You may own noticed that America's rotten shore oil comes mostly from the Gulf Coast and Alaska. It does not come from East or West Coast. Is that because there is no grease there? Oh there's grease there, but the state government and their lobbyiests from New England to Florida, and the same bunch on the west coast own banned grease drilling off their shores because there's stuff more meaningful to them than cheap energy. This is another voter issue ... the relations who want cheaper gas for the country are being outvoted, by race who have other desires.

In hurricane season, the Gulf Coast oil drilling have to shut down ... some of it not yet repaired from Katrina, so that cause more shortages, which drives up the price.

In Alaska, there used to be several grease wells going. They have to shut down several temporarily because the oil pipeline citizens had be neglecting regular care, to save on money, and in a minute they got a bunch of leak & God knows when adjectives that will get repaired. So more shortages to drive up the price through supply & emergency.

When the gas does come to US gas stations, there are adjectives those blends ... unleaded, premium ... go to any gas station & you can see there's a bunch of option ... well within different parts of the country there are different combinations. This channel they can't just convey a chunk of gas on a pipeline ... they have to start & stop pipelines to capture the different blends delivered. This drives up the cost.

Now as I said, I enjoy answered variations on this sound out many times formerly ... there are frequent many other reason why the gas prices are going up ... they will continue to be in motion up.

There are things that we consumers can do to lower our gas expenses & these things have be discussed in before Q+A.

Example ... there are newer cars near better gas mileage.
There's combinations like saloon pooling and public transportation.
I turn off the engine of my vehicle when I am in traffic conserve or "fast food" pickup, if I guess I am going to be there a while.
But most those are ALREADY doing pretty much this stuff.

There's also a lot of bogus Urban Legend things out within that don't work.

I think the most prominent thing individuals can do to reduce the cost of animation is self education ... stop conversation about idiots and price fixers and start discussion about what can be done to fix this, and obtain with our political party & let them know nearby is a significant voter block out there that think this is an important issue.

I enjoy seen copious Presidential debates where on earth people achieve to ask questions of the candidate. I have nonetheless to see one with an intelligent query on this topic. This basically tell the candidates that while here is a vocal minority out in that complaining about the gas prices, they are a minority that the politicians may as ably ignore.

How come there's a restriction on when...

Easy. We're running out of grease on this planet and Chinese are buying cars like in that is no tomorrow.
Buy a fuel efficient vehicle, ride your bicycle, or use public transport.
