02 Polaris Sportsman 500: Moving at Idle, Hard to shift?

hey all...

I own an 02 Polaris Sportsman 500. When in gear, it moves at vacant. It is also hard to shift surrounded by and out of gear at idle. It have auto transmission and auto clutch. I've hear it could be one of two things:

1. the clutch needs repaired or used to. if this is so, what part of the clutch is most credible the culprit? and do i need a special tool to work on the clutch myself?

2. the carb wishes cleaned. it has be sitting for awhile, and the clogged carb could be making the governor kick surrounded by when the load from the gear is on, and this is satisfactory to make the quad creep forward.

agree to me know what you guys thinks

thankfulness, dave

There are so tons unsold cars...What happen...

the problem is that it is a polaris with a belt drive (yamaha grizzly shaft drive is instrument better). I think it is problem one as you stated above.

Remote starter?

I have have 3 different sportsman 500's with duplicate problem. Every one of them had issues near the clutches. If you are not familiar beside working on clutches I would highly suggest that you bring it to a qualified mechanic, and yes near are special tools required.

The problem mainly is on the primary clutch. What happen is the bushing between the inner & outer sheaves wears out. The just permanent fix to this issue is to convert to an elder style "non ebs" clutch setup.

What's the best looking minivan?

Answers:    Sounds like the clutch, the carbie should not breed a manual sports car creep forward, where as the clutch will if worn and not adjectives correctly.
