i am trying to add a day time running street lamp feature to my 97 integra and i am trying to figure out how to bring back battery voltage (12v) down to 6 volts so i can still use my brights bulb and not blind people when near on?
the bulbs you enjoy will not operate as driving lights if you supply only 6 volts. Thy will not put eneff light to do much apt.
Thy will burn out faster.
Instead of trying to make the wrong parts do something they werent designed to do. Try this. Your headlights are turned on bu a relay. Make the wire that turns the relay on be attached to ignition on. Check near some radio install guysor a good mechanic. Its a easy do.

Basically 2 loads (your lights) will divide the supplied voltage while maintaining the full amperage. There for two bulbs surrounded by series with a 12 source will each see 6Vdc.
Again I would not cable the bulbs up this way.
