Am I riding the clutch?

Today, I was reading over the instruction book for my standard car. Somewhere within the manual I read that you should not rest your foot on the clutch pedal. The entity is, I do that but im not sure to what extent.( I don't actively pay attention to what im doing next to my foot while driving)

For me, it feels mortified to have my not here foot off to the side. If i necessitate to quickly come to a stop or shift gears briskly, I dont feel at home going the extra 3 inches to the right(to the clutch).

My question to you are:
Is this riding the clutch?
Where do you keep your disappeared foot?

But my question is, why do you discern you need to enjoy instant access to the clutch pedal??

You can bring your speed way down on your brakes beforehand needing to throw contained by your clutch, changing gear doesn't call for fast varying unless your racing, (in that travel case you wouldn't use the clutch at all!)

Relax, draw from comfortable, and take your time varying gears.
