Car A/C and Fuel Consumption?

Does running my A/C on low use less gas than running it on lofty, or is the fuel consumption the same, regardless on how big I run my A/C? I ask because I run low on gas a lot...

Answers:    Yes, it uses smaller number gas on low.

If your AC compressor actually have multiple settings or is continuously adjustable, setting it high will put more load on the engine.

If it doesn't, and you're newly turning the fan up, it uses more electricity, which comes from fuel (because the electricity to charge the freestyle comes from the alternator which is driven by the engine which is powered by fuel.). You probably would never detect a difference in this travel case, however.

The fan setting make no difference on fuel economy because that runs sour your battery. However when the compressor kick in that will formulate a slight difference in fuel discount. The alternative is to roll down your windows, which effects the stramlineness of your sports car. So that the fuel consumption is about indistinguishable. So crank up the A/C and enjoy.
