So a V8 sounds bigger than a V6, right? But what if you're comparing, for example, a 4.0 liter V6 to a 3.2 liter V8? Which is bigger, which is faster...?
Or, like... I think the Lamborghini Murcielago have a 6.something liter V12 while the Dodge Viper has a 8.something liter V10. 12 is bigger than 10, but 8 is bigger than six?
So can you make resembling a V8 on only 2 liters? Is there a hamper to that? Can you make like 8.0 liters on a four cylinder?
How does this work? I don't obtain it.
Please don't give me any "it depends" answers. That only confuses me more.
Thanks.
The 4.0 liter or 3.2 liter means the total volume of the cylinders within the engine.
If you want to look at the SIZE of the engine in terms of the amount of fuel-air it can burn at one time, after look at liters. More cylinders will give you more power, but won't give you as much fuel discount.
The Bigger the engine the more liters. No you can't make a v8 a 2.0 liter. Power is what the engine has inside.
First is to explain theV which is the design structure, shaped as the communiqu¨¦ V. Next is the number 4,6,8 all tell how various cylinders is available. next is the fact the litre(liter) is a standard of manoeuvre. Amount of displacement the engine has. It can have any amount of displacement across any number of cylinders. The larger the litre the larger the engine.

Answers: Displacement money everything, the bigger the cylinder the bigger the boom!
displacement or "litres" is the amount of fluid it would take to fill up adjectives the cylinders
a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine has a displacement of .5 litres per cylinder.
The Larger the displacement of the engine, the more fuel and air can fit inside the cylinder and you acquire a bigger explosion.
bigger boom = more power.
usually small engines with multiple cylinders are designed to run at very soaring rpm's to make up for the lack of displacement
you will mind that crotch rockets have .6 litre 4 cylinder engines but run upwards of 17,000 rpm where as a v - twin crusier can own a 1300 CC (1.3 litre) runs a max of 5000 rpm
fuel mileage is close to equal with a cruiser and a speed bike, because the smaller engine runs at a higher rpm buning more fuel.
you can create any size of engine you want to here are scale models of v8,v10,v12 engines that are only .05 litre engines, they run and are drastically impresive models, you can see these tiny engines on youtube.
anything is posible, its just that the car businessman needs to have a use for strange types of engines resembling a 2 litre V12 an engine like this would be very expensive to build when a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine have 1/3rd the moving parts and 1/10th the cost to build and maintain.
and will do the job freshly as well.
hope this helps.

You CAN have a V8 2.0 Liter engine...but the pistons would be enormously small. You can also have a 8.0 Liter V6 engine, but the pistons would be huge. It really depends on what components go on the vehicle. There are some stock V6's that can thrash a lot of V8's out there...and V8's that can thrash V12's...You also have to factor in the fuel consumption and shipment of the vehicle. sorry to pass you the answer you don't want, but "it depends" you can make a 2 liter V8, it would be an extremely high rpm engine, close to a motorcycle, which could be benificial. or you could make a 8 liter four cylinder, it would have tons of torque. you can do doesn`t matter what you want, look at formula one race car engines, theyre close to 3 liter V12 engines, or on the other end, diesel truck engines, huge V6 engines
