I have a pontiac pompous am on the ez pass website it tell me that on 1/03 (im thinking that means January 2003) my saloon can only enjoy the exterior ez pass, but the contemporary one 5/04 dosent have my sports car listed. I call customer service with no relieve she told me that I decide which one i want to have, but i know if i carry the wrong one i will get and i know if i procure the wrong one ill enjoy to pay a $50 fee(dont know if it make and difference but im going to use it in NJ). i want to know if i can bring the internal ez pass for my pontiac or am i individual allowed the exterior ezpass?
Answers: We have ezpass for both our cars a 04 mazda 6 and an 01 pontiac sunfire. The website said that the sunfire needed the exterior one and the mazda could use the interior one. After getting have them both I figured out the reason for their stipulations. For any car that have a tinted or opaque strip at the top of the windshield close by the rear attitude mirror they say receive the exterior pass. I guess that they cogitate the tint will block the signal.
Just get the interior one and mount it within a way that doesn't hold any tint blokcing it. Or do like I do and in recent times keep the transceiver contained by the console and hold it up to the windshield when you go through the toll. It works every time.
Whatever you opt don't EVER stop in the ezpass lane if the sign doesn't seem to be to read your pass. The ezpass company owes you if the overrun doesn't work right so sometimes the sign may not work right or something, just maintain moving. They will get it right after that. If you ever do get a ticket (for running the toll booth) basically contact expass and they will take concern of it. This has happen to other people I know beforehand.
