Answers: Imagine you are stopped on the road, beneath one tire is ice, lower than the other tire is pavement.
Without a LSD the tire on ice would spin and spin, while the tire on pavement stay still.
With LSD both tires would move.
In laymen jargon it doesnt sound as gleaming as it really is.
LSD distributes the torque to which ever wheel is moving the lowest possible. Where as a standard differential distributes the torque evenly to both tires but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle.
