Answers: By hybrid cars, I'm going to assume you mean hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). As others have pointed out, HEV mate a internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor which is powered by a big battery pack.
The two motors are mate together to move the car. Each hybrid motor is a little bit different however.
