Is it better to hold your saloon inspected at your dealership or at your local gas station?

My dealer doesn't charge a fee for state inspection; however, I've hear that most dealerships really try to rip you off when it comes to inspection.

You are just as likely to draw from ripped off at a smal garage. The advantage to a dealor is that they are factory certified to work on your vehicle. You can other get a second opinion on what they reccommend, but they are not going to jeopardize their state license by claiming things inevitability to be repaired that dont.

The "rip off" comes in the type of parts that they use. Dealors will only use "factory untested equipment" replacement parts, which sometimes are more expensive, as opposed to the independant shops which may use cheaper (however usually the same quality) aftermarket parts. Dealors also usually charge full book time, as anti some shops which may charge actual labor. More and more, dealors are having to be more competitive with the small shops, so the days of dealor "rip offs" are becoming a article of the past.
