I'm working on a 12 volt lighting project. I'm trying to turn on a light but my input flex always have a small amount of current running through it which make the reading light come on constantly. I need to stop that current so when I if truth be told hit my switch and apply the greater amount of current it actually comes on next and only afterwards
Answers: are you hooking the light to your wan stereo wire? if so i.e. your constant or memory wire. what you should do is attain a new spool of something like 30 feet of single red line, run it from your light, obscure the wire underneath trim panels and mat, run it up under your drop where you can attach it to a toggle swithc, push it through your fire wall, run it to the positive fall of your battery. very soon you have a constant power that will allow you to turn on your lights both when the saloon is running and when its not.
You need to engineer sure you're using a "good" switch or put the switch on the ground (-) side of your project.
