Hey all, I a moment ago got my G1 and I want to procure started learning how to drive an automatic nouns car. Where do I originate?? Any tips? Thanks!
Answers: These are some BASIC instructions. It takes years to be flawless.
1. Notice there are simply two foot pedals - the brake and gas pedals. Remember both pedals are operated by your right foot - your moved out foot stays on the floor.
2. Study the gear selector. A typical automatic transmission shifter have markings "P R N D 2 1". (See the tips section for details and other configurations).
3. Check that the saloon is in Park (P). Press the brake pedal down next to your right foot, and turn on the engine. Most cars will not start unless the shifter is in (P) or (N), and some will not start unless the brake pedal is pressed.
4. Move the gear lever to Drive (D), or Reverse (R).
5. Lift your foot slowly sour the brake - the car will start to move. (This might surprise some that hold driven manual transmissions previously)
6. Move your foot over to the gas pedal and press down considerately to increase speed. If you have driven a guide transmission previously, you may own the urge to step on the wide brake pedal to occupy the clutch - don't, your left foot other stays on the ground when driving an automatic).
7. To slow down, apply the brake. There is no need to shift out of Drive or Reverse when stopped. Keep your foot pressed on the brake once stopped.
8. Once you're done driving, put the gear into Park (P). If essential, pull the handbrake. Turn rotten the car, and permit go of the brake.
