I just get my first job today as a Field Engineer near duties including picking up parts from central bureau, delivering it to customers and if required installing these parts. The brief will run for 2 months, after which I may or may not be asked to stay on.
As happy as I am to hold got the living, I am now have problems because I have be told that I will need to use my own van when doing this charge.
I am really confused about what to do very soon, I don't have a van and don't really want to buy a van only in bag I am told that I can't stay on after the 2 months.
I have only just had a high-speed look at some van hire companies on the net and the cheapest I could find for a 2 month length is lb1600(not sure if this includes insurance).
The job itself simply pays lb300-lb400 per week, its also in federal London so the added hassle of lb8 daily congestion charge.
Any guidance or suggestions about what I could do to afford this mission would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in finance

Hi Ergun
I'm sorry to voice, i think your boos is taking the mick out of you, i did the exact same piece a field get 19 years ago, i have to run to the stores 3 times a week for parts but they supplied the vehicle, fuel etc, but i had to money for parking charges and claim them back, which wasn't too discouraging.
I suggest you check your contract, i understand you don't want to 'rock the boat' whilst your contained by your probationary period but if he/she explained this within the beginning, you really cant complain, but if they stated in that would be a company vehicle then they should supply one.
I do agree that most firms presently, state that you must find your own way and cost to the organization to collect your vehicle, unless you are permitted to take it home (watch out for tax) but that's within your contract, which you must have signed and them note to you your probationary period.
Ill put my cards on the table and explain the issue to them, (noting your contract) but be honest, if they want to serve they will understand, but if they give somebody a lift a hard stance, next perhaps these are not a devout firm to work for and find something better or different, noting that its easier said consequently done...been here.
Hope this helps for a moment, good luck
That kind of wage is remunerated when the company supplies the van. If you are expected to supply the vehicle, you should be on lb500 per week, minimum.
If you are supplying the van, you will also have to wage out for goods contained by transit insurance, as you will be technically self employed.
The money they are offering is a joke. In adjectives honesty, I'd be looking for another job...
Answers: Is this job really worth your buck? I dream up your boss is making things difficult for you. You should seriously consider looking for another job.
Having the inevitability to provide YOUR OWN van is ridiculous!
ask he company to provide one ,or look up north cheaper than buying down south ,own some confidence ya is a field finagle or not just buy summat to gain ya thru if it takes stale go for a lease van for work the charge should be charged to ya company who will pass it on to within clients
