What is the point of toll roads?

I know toll roads can help settle up for the upkeep of the road; but TxDot wants to turn 281 (a) 1604 into a toll road to relieve traffic congestion. I simply read a pro-toll article in the broadsheet that said toll roads are vital to the financial expansion of San Antonio because employees will be capable of commute to work more easily. The article writer continued to speak that toll roads haven't stopped traffic congestion in Austin, Houston, and Dallas; but they still comfort economic nouns. That doesn't make any sense to me. How is stopping every few miles to settle up a fee going to speed up traffic? And if the point is to divert individuals who don't want to pay somewhere else, wouldn't that produce traffic congestion in other places?

Answers:    here we dance again, more toll road propaganda. here's the real measure.

in the commencement toll roads were a means of access for states to finance a investigational road project. the deal be that when the loan was remunerated back via tolls the tolls would be removed. the ONLY state that have held up its end of the quibble is Kentucky.

now, why do we have need of tolls on new roads, or contained by the case of Pennsylvania and the proposed tolling of I-80, tolls on existing roads...the reality is that with every gallon of gasoline we buy a secure percentage is suppose to go into the trasnportation fund that pays for the maintainance, repair and building of untried roads. well over the years, adjectives those billions of road dollars collected in respectively state were merely sitting in a sandbank vault collecting dust and interest, until, and this is within EVERY state, some crooked politician came along, needed funding for some dumba** project and petitioned the state and received that road money 2 fund his impulse.

now, it comes time 2 repair/rebuild/build trial roads and guess what, the road fund well is dry. immediately the states believe there r lone 2 choices 2 fund roads, tolls or sell the roads 2 foreign countries close to Indiana did.

back 2 ur put somebody through the mill, in most focal cities that have toll roads most ppl hold electronic pass devices so they don't constantly stop at tollbooths. will it impose diversion because ppl won't wanna pay the tolls, thats palpable, yes. how many drive around the George Bush instead of paying? city streets and alternate routes are crouded, overwhelmed.

u r conversation about the tolling of hwy281, what in the region of the proposed Trans-Texas corridor that the state has be forcefully taking land from landowners 2 place the untried road and that the governor wants to market the project to the same foreign senate investors that Indiana sold its tollroad to. the same Trans Texas tollroad that will in actuality parallel I-35, what a big-a**ed waste.
